Find your November opening

For current students who aren’t graduating, the Registrar lists 7:30 a.m. openings. Graduate students open November 2. Seniors with 105 or more earned hours and second-degree students open November 3, and seniors with 90–104 earned hours open November 4.

Juniors with 75–89 hours open November 6 and those with 60–74 hours open November 9. Sophomores with 45–59 hours open November 10 and those with 30–44 hours open November 11. First-time college students with 15–29 hours open November 12 and those with 0–14 hours open November 13.

Use the cumulative earned hours on your record, excluding classes in progress. The Registrar also lists new graduate students and returning former undergraduates on November 13. Check your own time ticket before you act.

Clear holds and save backup sections

Open MyTech’s registration tools, select Prepare for Registration, and choose Spring 2027. Read your time ticket and any holds. Use the Registrar’s instructions to resolve each hold before your window opens.

Use the official class schedule to check section times and the catalog to check prerequisites. Save a primary schedule and a workable backup. Include any linked class or lab in both versions.

Mark the January add and drop dates

Classes begin Wednesday, January 13. January 19 is the last day to add a course yourself in MyTech. From January 20 through 25, adds require advisor permission. From January 26 through 29, they require both instructor and advisor permission.

January 29 is also the last day to drop a course through MyTech without academic penalty and have that course’s charges removed. If dropping would leave you at zero hours, use TTU’s separate withdrawal process and review its refund dates.

Check the dates before booking travel

The Lubbock calendar lists spring vacation from March 13 through 21 and no classes March 29. Classes end May 4, and the tentative final exam period is May 6 through 11. Confirm your actual exam schedule before booking a trip.
