Can I get to Texas Tech without a car?
Plan a trip from the apartment to your actual classroom and a return after your latest class. Check both against the current Citibus schedule and choose a separate backup for trips after bus service.
In this guide
Find your last direct bus
Look up the last timetable departure from a stop near the Texas Tech Student Union Building to a stop near your apartment. Add the walk from your class to the boarding stop and from the drop-off stop to your apartment.
Choose a date from November 6, 2026 through March 5, 2027. The lookup uses stops within about a quarter mile in a straight line.
Some route timetables run later than Citibus’s general service hours. Confirm any flagged trip in Citibus trip planning or GoPass before relying on it. Use the same planner for other campus buildings and transfers.
Check the apartment, stop and classroom together
Find the apartment on the housing map and your class building in the TTU campus directory. In GoPass, check an arrival before your first class and a departure after your last class. Include the walk to each stop, any transfer and the walk to the classroom. If you regularly need a Saturday trip, look up that day separately.
Choose the right campus loop or city route
Red Raider route 42 circles campus clockwise and Double T route 41 goes the other way. TTU publishes service windows of 7:25 a.m. to 7:17 p.m. for Red Raider and 7:25 a.m. to 6:59 p.m. for Double T. Check your stop in GoPass, especially for trips after 4 p.m.
On-campus buses are free to ride. Show your TTU student ID to ride Citibus fixed routes in the city for free. One city route to check is Route 205, which started September 28, 2026 and runs from North Indiana through Texas Tech and Covenant to South Quaker and 122nd Street.
Check service for the semester and day you need
Citibus runs Texas Tech routes during the academic session, with reduced service in summer. The schedule feed checked November 5, 2026 lists the regular Fall 2026 campus shuttle calendar on weekdays from August 24 through December 9, with exceptions. Use the schedule and alerts for your actual travel date when planning finals, holidays or a Fall 2027 lease.
Plan a late ride for the right part of your trip
Raider Ride is TTU’s on-campus shuttle for students. The university posts service from 6 p.m. to 2:45 a.m. seven days a week during its published term windows, with Texas Tech holidays excluded. Request the ride through TechRide with your eRaider login and carry a valid student ID.
For an off-campus trip, Citibus On-Demand is a separate paid shared ride booked in GoPass. Citibus posts hours of 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. weekdays and 6:45 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturdays. Check the pickup and drop-off zones and available trips before relying on it for your ride home.
