How to apply for financial aid at Texas Tech
File the FAFSA if you’re eligible. If Texas Tech classifies you as a Texas resident and you can’t file the FAFSA, use the TASFA. After you file, use Raiderlink and your TTU email to see what Texas Tech still needs and whether you have an offer.

Choose the form and aid year
TTU lists October 1, 2026 as the opening date for its 2027–28 FAFSA and TASFA cycle. For Fall 2027, select 2027–28. If you’re filing the FAFSA, add Texas Tech University with federal school code 003644. Submit one form for the aid year. Follow TTU’s TASFA instructions if that’s your route.
See what TTU still needs
After filing the FAFSA, review your FAFSA Submission Summary and correct any errors. Then check the Financial Aid and Scholarships requirements area in Raiderlink and your TTU email. If TTU asks for verification or other documents, follow its instructions for each item. New applicants should also check admission status: TTU says it reviews a new student’s FAFSA after admission.
Review the offer and check your account
In Raiderlink, open My Tech → Student Financial Aid and Scholarships → View and Accept Aid Package. Select the aid year and open Award Offer. Review the types and amounts before confirming. Follow the prompts to acknowledge the terms and accept the award.
Check your student account separately. An offer can be accepted while a requirement is still pending. Disbursement happens when TTU releases eligible funds to your account.
