How to plan a double major at Texas Tech
Start by confirming whether your pair fits into one degree or follows a dual-degree plan. Preview both majors together in DegreeWorks, then take the proposed plan to both advisors.

Identify the degree structure
University Advising gives a pair of majors within the same college as an example of a double major and a pair across colleges as an example of a dual degree. Texas Tech publishes a Mathematics and Computer Science program that leads to two B.S. degrees, with Mathematics in Arts & Sciences and Computer Science in Engineering.
Preview both majors together
DegreeWorks can display more than one major in a What If audit. Use the combined preview to mark where your current courses apply and where each major still has requirements. Ask which requirements can share a course and which classes could add another term before choosing the pair.
Take the plan to both advisors
Texas Tech’s Political Science department requires its double majors to see both advisors each term. If your pair includes Political Science, plan both appointments. For any pair, ask each program to confirm its approval steps and your proposed completion term.
